Lead is a known poison.  Other countries limited the use of lead-based paints (LBP) as early as 1840.  The United States did not act until the 1970’s.  The UlSl Government banned the use of LBP in houses, hospitals, schools, parks, playgrounds, and public buildings in 1978.  LBP has been found in homes built before 1980.  LBP can still be used on cars, boats, metal furniture, industrial steel, farm equipment, and on roads as traffic paint.

Diamond Environmental Solutions, Inc., understands these issues.  Diamond Environmental Solutions, Inc.’s staff has 15 years performing remediation activities in radon, lead-based, paint, asbestos, industrial contamination sites, and many other situations where containment was a significant issue and the construction activity was a secondary issue.  We are also a licensed builder with several years construction experience.  As such, we are uniquely qualified to hand both the environmental and construction issues related to the removal of the lead from your home.

Additionally we are family people ourselves and understand that you would not want to do anything that would hurt your children.  We will treat your home as if it was ours and that those children would be our own.  (you can scrap this if it goes too far).

Renovation in a home where LBP is present is one of the greatest causes of childhood lead poisoning.  Many of these homes are occupied by families that have children, some of which are under six years old.  Children under six are most at risk for damage due to lead because their nervous systems are still developing.

Performing Lead abatement safely is very important and currently, while regulated, is performed by contractors that do not have a proper background in the environmental field.  These contractors do not fully understand how to protect workers and families of the houses that they are in.
